VOLVO TO FOLLOW TESLA AND DEVELOP AN IN HOUSE EV PROGRAM

A car production not only requires a whole team and a lot of systematic work, but planning is the first component in it. There are two different ways to mass-produce a vehicle: You can recruit someone or a team to do it, or you can do a ton of it yourself and redistribute the rest of the work. Pretty much every automaker is nowadays opting for the latter, including Tesla, regardless of whether it tries to do everything all alone.  Now Volvo is also taking part in the same race. The company said on Monday that it would move one major part of its EV program in-house.

To be more specific, the famous automakers are planning to develop electric motors for their electric vehicles in-house at a lab in Shanghai. Volvo even claims that the reason behind this is similar to that of Tesla because of uniqueness and control.

BENEFITS OF IN-HOUSE PRODUCTION INCLUDES:-
  1. Flexibility
  2. Quick response to market
  3. Fast testing of proto- models
  4. Original
  5. Unique
  6. Total control

The chief technology officer of the company said, Through in-house design and development, we can fine-tune our electric motors to even better levels. The recently opened lab in Shanghai became operational a month ago. It will fundamentally focus on electric engine development for use in only electric and hybrid vehicles dependent on Volvo Cars approaching SPA 2 measured vehicle engineering.

Since the thing about in-house is that doing everything in-house is incomprehensible. Tesla has consistently attempted to do that, yet they get their batteries from Panasonic and put Goodyears on new Model Ys. They have scores of different providers. Which is a remark less about Tesla than about Volvo and each other automaker in that, by the day’s end, by far most the purchasers don’t generally mind.
